DMGS 1980 Lagos Alumni Elects New Executive

Olori Adenike Fadahunsi was unanimously voted in as the new leader to head the Lagos chapter of the Doherty Memorial Grammar School, Ijero-Ekiti during their recent election in Lagos.

The recent general meeting of the school’s 1980 set also witnessed the duo of Mr Idowu Fashiku and Mrs Deborah Eyelade Akerele emerge as Secretary and Welfare/Social Secretary respectively. Mr Olukanmi Jeje was picked as substantive Public Relations Officer (PRO) while Mr Lawrence Ajoje was voted in as Financial Secretary.

In her acceptance speech, the new leader promised to uphold the standards already established by reputable alumni associations of the school. She spoke of plans to deliver services that would motivate other old students of their set to join the association which essentially seeks to support and enhance the welfare of their alma mater through promoting high educational standards.

“I am honoured by the mandate that you have all given me. I promise to serve as a servant-leader as we all unite to build on the legacies of the outgoing exco for the association’s continued success,” she added.
