Doherty Proud Alumnus, Omotoso Delivers UNILORIN 272nd Inaugural Lecture Jan. 15

The human heart and how it communicates and responds to both internal and external stimuli will form the kernel of discussions as erudite academic and cardiologist, Professor Ayodele Omotoso takes the centre stage to deliver the University of Ilorin 272nd inaugural lecture January 16, 2025.

The lecture titled “Of The Heart, For The Heart: Communicating The Non-communicables Heartily” will be delivered at the University Auditorium, Main Campus under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor W.O. Egbewole.

Professor Omotoso, a proud alumni of the famous Doherty Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Ijero-Ekiti is reverred in medical circles globally for his uncanny insights into the human anatomy, hence the widespread interest his inaugural lecture and the topic has generated.

Thursday’s event, which commences at exactly 5pm is expected to attract the who-is-who in the academic community, both local and international; medical students, the public and other stakeholders.

The event which is the 272nd in the University’s ‘Inaugural Lecture Series’ has the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor W.O Egbewole (SAN) as chairman, with the registrar of the school, Mansur Adeleke Alfanla also making the roll call of invited dignitaries.

Professor Omotoso, chairman, board of trustees of the Doherty Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Ijero-Ekiti, also currently heads the department of medicine, faculty of clinical sciences, College of Health Sciences in the University.
